About the Apartment on Fővám square

The apartment is located in a historical building which stands in one of the most beautiful squares in Budapest on the banks of river Danube. The building opens to the beginning of the famous pedestrian Váci Street on one side, and faces monumental Szabadság bridge with the famous Gellert spa and a hill on the other. The historical building of the Hungarian National Museum is in a walking distance. However, the famous central market, one of the biggest in Budapest is just opposite the building. The building is a monument built at the end of 19th century. Famous Hungariancomposer Bartok Béla was born in it. We can highly recommend you the drive with the tram # 2. It takes you along the Pest side of the Danube offering you fantastic view of the most attractive buildings and bridges in Buda and Pest. The entire area is full with small cafes, restaurants and tourist and souvenir shops. You can walk to several gay bars and clubs situated in the area. There is public parking in front of the building.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building. It is about 50 sqm in size with 2 rooms, kitchen, small hall and a bathroom. The bigger room has one double bed, 1 single and 1 additional bed if necessary. Smaller room has one double bed. 
Kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove, coffee maker, and self catering. Bathroom has bathing tub with shower, sink and washing machine. Apartment has TV set with satellite programs including more than 100 channels. There is also computer with wireless internet connection. 
Towels, blankets and sheets are provided. At check-in you can obtain information where to buy tickets for public transportation. Free printed city and gay maps, and other tourist brochures are available upon your arrival.

Distance from gay places

Magnum gay sauna is 2 stations away using public bus # 83. Action gay bar is in a walking distance approximately 500 m. Capella disco club is about 300 m and Milord gay cafe is only 50 m away from the apartment.

Airport

Not to mention that you can save you time and money with them. We could warmly recommend you to take their service because of the security reasons. In case you leave/forgot something in a cab or have other problems, we know in any time who is the cab driver and the number of his vehicle. Please be aware that we do not guaranty the standard price in case you select other taxi company and they overcharged your fare. 
If you decide to use Budapest taxi service call please your travel agent (Nenad) and the taxi will be ordered for you in a few minutes. You can request the taxi in advance through your emails but also upon your arrival, in a text message to Nenad. You can also call Nenad on his mobile phone +36306852643 or if you call from Hungary 06306852643, send him please the name of terminals (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2A or 2B). Once Nenad is notified about your taxi request, please go to the information desk at the arrivals section of the airport and wait for your taxi driver. The driver will come in 5-15 minutes with your name written on the paper board.
Please note that the price is fixed! From the airport Budapest taxi will charge you 6000 HUF or 26 euros with maximum of 20 minutes for waiting. Please wait on the information desk, and don’t go from there, because if the taxi driver is waiting for you more then 20 minutes you will be extra charged. The price from the apartment to the airport is 5000 HUF or 22 euros. These prices are valid from 10th October 2008. This is a special discount for our costumers! This price is the same for one, two, three or 4 people!
If you don't want to use our partner taxi service you can select between other taxi companies, airport's Minibus or public transportation. If you prefer public transportation, please take bus # 200 from the last stop to the metro terminal. From there you can use blue metro line to the city center.

Train Stations

If you arrive to Budapest by train to one of 3 major train stations and want to use Budapest taxi services please call us or text message us immediately upon your arrival in Budapest, (from Hungary 06306852643 or from aboard +36306852643), and we will order taxi for you for discount price for our costumers. 
If you don't want to use the taxi, please relay on public transportation. There are 3 different train stations in Budapest: Keleti (East), Nyugati (West) and Deli (South). 
If you arrive at Nyugati train station take the blue metro line to the Kálvin tér metro stop.
If you arrive at Keleti train station take the red metro line to the Deák square metro stop and switch to the blue metro line to the Kálvin tér stop.
If you arrive at Deli train station take the red metro line to the Deák square metro stop and then, switch to the blue metro line and get off at the Kálvin tér stop.

Parking

Usually there is no problem to find parking space in front of the building. You have to pay approximately 300 HUF for one hour in a period from 8 AM till 8 PM during the week. Weekends are free of charge. You can also park your car in public and guarded garages in the area. You will be charged between 2000 and 4000 HUF per day.

Change Rates & Payment

Please note that you need to make the reservation of your gay accommodation well in advance. Check-in is only by agreement made through the email or phone communication. No credit cards are acceptable. You are requested to pay in cash immediately upon your arrival into the apartment! Please prepare the payment in EUR as we accept Hungarian Forints also. If you pay in Hungarian Forints, we charge you according to the exchange rates that are published on the day of your arrival from this web site: http://www.xe.com/ucc/. There are a lot of ATM machines where you can obtain Hungarian Forints using major credit/debit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro etc.

Reservation 

Send us please your completed reservation request to this e-mail: budapest@budapest-gay.com or call us to: +36306852643 (if you call from your international phone from aboard) or 06306852643 (if you call inside Hungary with Hungarian SIM card). We will send a written confirmation of your booking request as soon as possible, but definitively within 24 hours. Please wait for our reply and do not request reservations elsewhere so that we avoid double reservations at two or more different agencies. If your desired apartment has been already booked or occupied by somebody else, we will provide you with the information when it will be free and offer you a substitute apartment within the same price category.
